Location Architect Jordy Construction was asked to interview for Elise Wiggins new Chef driven concept early on in the process. Semple Brown Design and Elise Wiggins were looking for a contractor to collaborate with while the design was being developed. This allowed the team to have real time input on finish selection costs and lead time, warranty and maintenance feedback on products, scheduling exercises, and coordinating with the building landlord regarding construction logistics. The project was a full build out from a core and shell handover to our project team. Jordy Construction was in charge of all rough framing, electrical, HVAC and plumbing, through the install of finishes for the restaurant. Jordy Construction was also heavily involved in the coordination of all owner vendors – thereby increasing the quality of the overall end product of the construction project. One key feature that took all team members working closely together was the purchase, delivery and install of the custom pizza oven from Italy. Jordy was responsible for coordinating with this vendor and our staff assisted in the staging and startup of this show piece for the project. This project was completed in approximately 16 weeks and had a very low percentage of change orders. By working together at the onset of the project, the team was able to identify the costs and time impacts up front. Also by negotiating good contracts with our subcontractor base and clearly sharing with them the financial and time challenges with the project – we were able to positively solve oversights and unforeseen conditions at the field level as well.
